The sun may be distant, but life can still be bright.
In one of his sermons about life’s hardships, a popular preacher joked that if your life up to this point had been free of troubles, not to worry because they are on the way. Life is a spiritual war and throughout it, we find ourselves in one of three states: heading into a battle, fighting the battle, or emerging from the battle.
This process is not optional, but what we do have the ability to choose is what lessons we learn from each state and how we apply them to the next one. With winter upon us, it is not only easy to settle into seasonal blues, but to also look at our current state in a negative way.
Each day, I am understanding more and more the power that is manifested through positive thinking and self-affirmation. We weren’t created to fail, we were created to be free and impart goodness in the world through our words and deeds. Life is tough sometimes; it is also good sometimes. Regression or progression is the only option. ■
